Strength Analysis
Strength analysis services include:
- Strength analyses of steel structures
- Strength analyses of tanks
- Fatigue analyses
- Vibration analyses
- Earthquake analyses
- Finite Element Method (FEM) analyses
Software we use: ANSYS, Finnsap, Autodesk Robot.
We provide strength analyses for both small and large projects with over 20 years of experience. We are used to work in accordance with standards, guidelines, and requirements. European standards are familiar to us (e.g. various parts of Eurocode as well as pressure vessel and tank standards). We also have experience with many international standards.
Strength analysis assesses the durability, safety, and performance of structures and materials under various conditions. Strength analysis determines how materials and structures withstand different loadings (such as wind, earthquakes, temperature variations, wind, snow or ice loads), as well as how materials behave under these loads. Well-executed strength analysis helps to improve product durability, optimize structures, and thus reduce material costs.
Piping and Pressure Equipment Analysis
Piping and pressure equipment analysis includes:
- Flexibility analysis of pipelines
- Strength analyses of pressure equipment
- Fatigue analysis
- Vibration analysis
- Earthquake analysis
Software we use: ANSYS, Finnsap, VVD, PV Elite.
Piping Flexibility Analysis
Piping flexibility analysis ensures the adequate flexibility and strength of pipelines and their attachment points. Piping flexibility analysis is often a regulatory requirement (e.g., PED), but it can also generally ensure the durability of pipelines and economically optimized design. We have a lot of experience in piping flexibility analyses, including PED and other demanding piping systems.
In piping flexibility analysis, the behavior of pipelines (including pipes, pipe components, and supports) under various loads is assessed. Such analysis is particularly important in industrial and power plants where pipes transport various fluids and are almost always exposed to temperature or pressure variations, as well as potential loads caused by wind or earthquakes. Piping flexibility analysis commonly follows standards such as EN 13480 and ASME B31.1/B31.3.
Pressure Equipment Analysis
Pressure equipment refers to devices that contain fluids, such as liquids or gases, at pressures exceeding 0.5 bar and may include structures like pipelines and vessels. Pressure equipment can be subjected to both internal and external pressure loads. In addition to the actual overpressure, the fluid contained within the equipment generates hydrostatic pressure and may expose the equipment to corrosion or erosion. Pressure equipment can also experience external loads e.g. from connected piping, wind and earthquake.
Pressure equipment analysis and design ensure that the equipment can withstand the loads by selecting appropriate materials, determining sufficient wall thicknesses, and, if necessary, vacuum stiffeners and local reinforcements. It can also evaluate the effects of corrosion. Pressure equipment strength analysis commonly refers to standards such as EN 13445 and ASME BPVC Section VIII.
Mechanical Engineering
We provide comprehensive mechanical engineering in both 2D and 3D for various projects, including industrial machinery, cranes, power transmission systems, silos, tanks, platforms, and various steel structures.
Software we use: AutoCAD, Tekla, Advande Steel, Inventor, Navisworks.
Mechanical design is always tailored to meet the requirements of the project, including the preparation of manufacturing drawings when necessary. The manufacturing drawings take into account the applicable design standards and include the necessary details, welds, plate layouts, and a parts list.
Consulting, Training, Development
Involving a strength analysis expert early in the design process will improve the quality and efficiency of the project. With an engineer’s expertise, you can be confident that the materials chosen for your project are durable and ensure a long lifespan, without compromising safety.
Sometimes, there is a need to enhance processes by increasing knowledge or developing custom tools. We offer tailored training sessions to meet our clients’ specific needs. We also develop and create calculation templates and selection programs for our clients’ own products.
